SMS Students Win Geography Challenge
Each spring sixth grade students from across the nation compete in the National Geography Councils Geography Challenge.  This national assessment tests skills in geography and puts schools from every state in the nation against one another.  The ten best scores from each school are taken, and then added up.  The highest score wins the competition and is declared that year's National Champions.  We take the test normally at the end of April or the beginning of May and then wait for the results. Once again, for the fourth time in nine years Southern Middle School was advised that they had once again finished first in the nation.  The following Warriors are your National Geography Council Geography Challenge National Champions:  David Suarez, Sarah Hines, Lillie Turpin, Andrew Smith, Maxwell Brainard, Kaitlynn Gover, Bailey Patterson, Clark Lemon, Sydney Wilson, and Chiebuka Onuoha.
